GRILLING SEASON ALL’ITALIANA

While we know and love the charred, umami flavours that come from grilling a steak, there are plenty of other ways to make the most of the flame. Step up your cookout game this season with our guide on all the ways to get creative with grilling!

VISIT OUR BUTCHER COUNTER FOR SELECT CUTS

Learn about our cuts at Eataly’s butcher counter, and talk to our experts about the best way to prepare them: from time on the grill, to how long it should rest. We source our meat from clean, sustainable farms and ranches like VG Meats, which specializes in small herd, high care beef that is never fed antibiotics, is fully traceable, and is the first tenderness tested beef in Canada.

Check out our vintage beef cuts from VG Meats, from NY Strip to Ribeye, and more, at up to 20% off from June 30 to July 4, 2021! Vintage beef boasts impressive marbling and a much more intense flavor than its younger counterparts: it is only slightly sweet, with intense earthiness and minerality on the palate (owing to a grass-fed diet). The fat takes on a yellow pigmentation with age, adding to the depth of flavour. Shop in-store, order online!

BISTECCA ALLA FIORENTINA

Nearly every Tuscan home cook is an expert at bistecca fiorentinaa traditional Florentine steak recipe that calls for only five ingredients. The steak is typically from Chianina cattle — an ancient Tuscan breed known for its prized and tasty meat — seasoned with local spices and grilled over red-hot coals. It’s traditionally served “rare,” but we won’t judge if you ask for medium. (Not too much, anyway).

VISIT OUR FISH COUNTER FOR TODAY’S CATCH

Just like Nando Fiorentini, our pescivendolo (fishmonger) in Torino, the fishmongers at Eataly Toronto do not sleep until they find the freshest fish of the highest quality. As a result, our seafood is exceptional and never frozen. But our fishmongers don’t stop at quality: we care about where the places it comes from and the people who catch it. We work with fishermen and distributors who ensure that our seafood is caught responsibly in ways that consider the long-term vitality of the species and the oceans. This means the best seafood for you, the fishermen, and the world.

PEPPERS

Grilling peppers only makes them sweeter, creating a beautiful nice charred skin that peels off to reveal a soft interior. What’s more, is that you can grill just about any pepper, giving us a multitude of pepper possibilities.

STONE FRUIT

If you think grilling ends after the main meal, think again. Grilled fruit, especially peaches and other stone fruits like apricots and nectarines, makes for a decadent post-cookout dessert that can be served on its own or dressed up with gelato or fresh cheese.
